- Extra people. If you need to bring someone who's not in the band, make sure they're really necessary... your girlfriend is only going to get bored and fall asleep.
- New Strings. Put them on before you get here.
- Have your guitar set-up by a professional. If you don't know what this means, have your guitar set up by a professional.
- New Drumheads. A MUST! Not some that "are only a few months old..." New ones.
- Practice with a click-track. (Not just the drummers.)
- Rehearse tunes with acoustic guitars a few times. You'd be amazed at how many hours are wasted with arguments because band members realize that they've been playing the same song four different ways at the same time, but no-one knew because they were rockin'.
- Bring along some CD's that impress you sonically.
- Cell Phones. Please don't bring them. We promise that your life can and will continue. Tell everyone that you are at the studio... unless of course you want to pay us to wait while you argue with your girlfriend about why she can't come to the studio and sleep on the couch.
- Extra People. Leave the posse at home. Then you can tell everyone that you recorded everything in one take.
With all of this said, you can of course do what you want. We're on your time, and it is your session.
